Some of you may know, from either seeing my YouTube or talking to me during my live streams on Twitch, that I LOVE Telltale Games. I swear everything they do is pure gold. I always feel like everything is beautifully written and the voice acting is phenomenal. I can not wait to get my hands on the newest seasons or episodes of the stories they come out with. That is why I was especially excited about Batman The Telltale Series.

Batman The Telltale Series

Recently when I found out that they were doing a Batman series, I was floored. One of my favorite characters of all time is Batman aka Bruce Wayne. I perhaps have had a mega crush on him, and I have to say when I played the first Episode, Realm of Shadows, it just intensified my crush on him. His character was made very deep and I loved that they made him to be the Bruce Wayne I knew and loved and not just Batman. Batman is as much Bruce Wayne as Bruce Wayne is Batman. I felt neither side of him was hidden away or neglected.

Batman The Telltale Series

Realm of Shadows is an excellent introduction to Batman The Telltale Series. It set the scene for what I imagine will be an amazing series done by Telltale Games. You meet some great characters and get to see their connection to Bruce Wayne and/or Batman. Some of the characters many of you will remember from the comics or possibly you remember from the 90’s cartoon, which is where I remembered most of them from. I did not grow up on Comics, shame on me, but I did watch probably every episode of the Animated Series.

I loved that it took a more detective vibe instead of just a fighting crime vibe. Bruce Wayne is no doubt, a triple threat. Getting to make decisions or choosing the things Bruce Wayne says, brings me great joy. I am very interested in the consequences to my options in following episodes of this excellent series.

Seeing the relationships between all the characters made this an excellent opening and by the end of the episodes I was clinging to the edge of my seat. Seeing Bruce Wayne struggling with information he learns about his family’s past, and not knowing how Alfred is going to respond or what Bruce will find next. The possibility are endless and I can not wait to see it all unfold with the choices I have made.

  1. I grew up watching the 90s Batman animated series as well rather than reading the comics but I have read a few of them like The Dark Knight Returns. The game looks like a unique Batman game and the animation looks really neat.

  2. Looks like a fun game! I like that the decisions you make while playing have an impact on where the story goes as you continue with the game. I’m not much of a gamer at all, but I do like stories where you get to choose your own ending as you go along.

  3. My eldest son loves Batman. He has been talking about this. Nice review, by the way.

  4. batman rocks. i’ll have to watch this with my kids. can’t wait for the lego batman movie as well.
