I am a huge fan of video games, that seems to be pretty obvious here on my blog. One thing I do not get to play often is my 3DS. I have two little minions that really enjoy stealing it from me, so I got my oldest one of her own, That allows me to play some games after the tiniest minion goes to bed. I have always enjoyed Farming Simulator and I was really excited to see Farming Simulator 18 come to the 3DS, and also nice that it is available for those with a PS Vita!
This means that now I can snuggle up on the couch, or even in bed and play a nice game I really enjoy playing. I love farming games and I love simulations, and it gives me the best of both worlds. How can you pass up playing it on a handheld? It is nice to see some new features for the 3DS like breeding pigs and sheep. I think my favorite part is the animals in the game. Don’t get me wrong I love growing crops, but it is the animals that get me every time. Lets also not forget that we can now get new machinery for woodcutting and even new AGCO vehicles. I really think it is neat when you see new things introduced in a gaming franchise such as Farming Simulator.
Since having the 3DS version of Farming Simulator 18 introduced in my home, my oldest has decided that she likes the game more now. I think the ease of use on her 3DS was a big seller point for her. Plus she loves sandbox style games, where the possibilities are pretty endless on her farm. I think it is fabulous when my kids can enjoy a freestyle play game that is rated E for Everyone. So many sandbox games I can not allow my kids to play, because of its rating. Seeing more and more E rated games has been a big thing for me as a mother.
Being a franchise I have enjoyed for years, just makes it even better that I can play it anywhere I want to. This is a huge thing for my oldest as well, who really enjoys it. Going to a doctor’s appointment or even to the grocery store, she can tend to her animals and sell off her crops. She loves to show off her farm and how much she makes and is always asking me how my farm is going. How can you pass that up? It is a great game that you can enjoy with your entire family with lots of neat things.
Raising animals, trending your crops, expanding your farm, buying new machinery, and so much more. Package that with portability, and my family is pretty much sold. Some other great news for this game, is that it is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Sadly I do not have a switch yet. Possibly in the near future as more games start going to it. One last mom thing I must mention, Farming Simulator 18 is available in 2D and 3D. It is recommended that 3D is not used until your child is at least 7 years of age. 3D can cause visual damage in children 6 years of age and younger, so just be mindful. I turned off 3D capabilities in my daughter’s 3DS until she was over 7, you can find that in your settings on your 3DS. Now just go and enjoy the game yourselves, or let your children take a whirl! We have had hours of enjoyment.
